Our History

In 1995, a fortuitous meeting at Rocco “Rocky” Falleti’s carpet store set the foundation for a remarkable journey. While browsing for new carpet, John Chuey noticed some small points and flint flakes on Rocky’s desk and mentioned his own passion for field hunting and collecting. This serendipitous encounter revealed a shared enthusiasm that led Rocky and John to explore archaeological sites and attend auctions together.

Motivated by their adventures, Rocky envisioned creating a local archaeological club. Through numerous phone calls and meetings, his dream began to take shape. By 1996, the club was officially established, with its inaugural meeting featuring Jim Traficant as the guest speaker. Rocky’s leadership and vision attracted a distinguished team of advisors and leaders, including Albert Wakefield, Dr. John White, John Zakucia, and Dale Wright, among others.

What began as Rocky Falleti’s individual dream, supported by John Chuey’s passion, has evolved into a vibrant community. As the club celebrates nearly three decades of exploration and camaraderie, it is hoped that it will continue to inspire and thrive for many more years to come.
